A Lunatic Criminal.

Auckland, This Day. At the Supreme Court to-»day, the jury brought in a verdict of not guilty in the case of Wm, MacDonald, charged with setting fire to the dwelling house of Darvid Ward Taylor, on the ground that the accused was a lunatic from the time of the committal of the offence. His honour then ordered that the prisoner should be kept in strict custody in Auckland prison, during the pleasure of the Colonial Secretary.
