Market still continues firm for Banks, insurances, and sundry other Blocks, At Reefton oonßiderable excitement has been experienced owing to tbe number of mines looking so well and tbe expectation of Beveral dividends shortly. As one instance of how important it is not to buy at the top of tho market as tou many have done in the paßt, the Cumberland and Big River shares only eight or nine months' since could have been purchased for Is and 2s 2d respectively and are now easily saleable at 10s to 11b per share, dividends, having been paid in tho meantime in one at least of these with the great probability of their going higher after next crushing,
