Henry Mellett v. Harriet Phillips.— This was a claim for £24. in that the servant of the defendant by carelessly riding a horse in the public highway, did ride the same with great violence agaiust the plaintiff's landau, whereby the plaintiff was thrown out and injured, and the landau and harness was seriously damaged. Mr Harley appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr Pitt for tho de fendant.

Henry Mellett: On the 3rd July I was driving my landau down from home, and was in front of Amos's when Constable, who was riding a horse bare back, ran into me and threw me off the seat. His horse was so much injured that it had to be killed. I was driving on the right side of the road at the time. » was under the doctor until the end of the month, and had to get another man to drive my cab, Dr Leggatt attended me. Mr Moore mended the landau for me, The traces were broken also. Mr Dixon mended them. Altogether the repairs cost Jt'B, the traces £1, and tbe landau j£7.

By Mr Pitt : I was injured internally. I was on the Lodge a week,
