Dcnedin, December 21. The Mararoa, due here on Tuesday, has 270 passengers,' and the Tarawera, which left Sydney, has 220, mostly excursionists. This gives an aggregate of 2000 tourists during December. At the sales of sugars ex Thurso, the bidding showed an advance of 15s to 20s per ton, after which a great portion of the cargo was withdrawn on higher prices, and consequently 150 tons were placed in one time. As an outcome of the reoonl dispute at the hospital, the mauagement trustees have removed Dra Oolquhoun and Roberts from tho medioal staff, Chribtohdboh, Deoember 21. Seven societies have adopted the rules of the Trades and Labour Federation. The Council is established, and eight Societies are affiliated, representing about 2,000 members. Charles Leslie Fleming was committed for trial for forgery to-day. He was oommitted for a similar offence yesterday at Ashburton.
