CITIZENS' PRIZES.

The competition by the Volunteers for the citizens' prizes took place at the Maitai Range yesterday. The ranges were 200 and 300 yards; 5 shots at each. The shootingwas far below the average, which was partly owing to the inferior ammunition, which had to be taken from tho reserve in the magazine, the annual allowance to the several corps not yet having arrived from Wellington.
