Mr Richardson has made a complete circuit of the South Island, and hns visited Stewart Island during his trip. All the Sounds of the West Coast have been visited, and as there was a great deal of wet weather the waterfalls were particularly grand. Further north in the settled part as may be seen in the West Coast newspapers he has received deputations by the score. Probably if he had promised all ihpjb was asked the Government would have bt*pn pledged to add a million or perhaps two to the public dobt, A football match will be played in j Trafalgar Park to-morrow afternoon between the Marlborough Unions and Nelson. At eight o'clock this morning the Volunteers paraded in the Botanical Reserve and fired a royal salute and feio de joie in honour of Her Majesty's birthday. Most of the wood is oak, tho oldest grown in this colony, and aa that ran short part is boney~ suckle and other New Zealand timbers. The case was made by Mr Flemings and does him great credit. The ornamentation is pretty and expropriate, and the whole makes a handsome ornament to the Council Chamber. A good game is expected as both teams have bean training for this match, and although the Albert team is weakened by several mem bers being unable to get away at the last moment they will no doubt give the visitors some trouble in the field, YtSTERDAY before the Regia:rar of the So,r«mß Court, ou tha application of Mr Pi. , probae of the will r.f the late Mr John Cann waß granted to Mrs Cmn, the sole executrix.
