Tlie Hawea Mystery. Nbwplymooth, June 14. The Hawea remains in the same position. Oaptain Bendall, who arrived from Welling, ton in the Wanaka yesterday afternoon, is now making the neoeseary examination of tbe vessel. The general opinion is tbat the vessel oan easily be floated again. The Harbor Master and resident engineer scout the idea of rooks being at the spot the Hawea is said to have Btruck. Oaptain Holford says he has repeatedly Bounded where the vessel is said to have struok a rook but conld not find boulders or rook of any kind. He says also that he is not sure the Hawea did not strike her anohor. The Hawea was drawing 12 feet and the chart shows sixteen to seventeen of water at the spot where she struck. The Hawea in coming to the wharf has frequently made a bdmlk detour without mishap.
