Oaptain Bendall, who arrived from Welling, ton in the Wanaka yesterday afternoon, is now making the neoeseary examination of tbe vessel. He says also that he is not sure the Hawea did not strike her anohor. The Hawea was drawing 12 feet and the chart shows sixteen to seventeen of water at the spot where she struck. The Hawea in coming to the wharf has frequently made a bdmlk detour without mishap.
