A vote of thanks to the Chairman brought the meeting to a closa. The anniversary tea meeting of the Richmond Wesleyan Church was held yesterday, when there was a fair attendance. At the lecture on " Georgo Moore, merchant and Philanthropist," by the Rev H. J. Lewis, there was a very good attendance and it was listened to throughout with great attention. At the close, Mr P. Sheat, on behalf of the Church, thanked Mr Lewis for his able lecture. The church was very tastefully decorated. Our Wakefield correspondent writes : — The Caledonian Assembly have reason to be proud of the patrenage which was accorded to them at their concert which was given on Monday evening at the Temperance Hall. The entertainment was well arranged, the programme being of a specially interesting character. There were several encores, but the good taste of the audience was manifested in moderating its customary demands in this direction. Amongst the items most highly appreciated were the Scotch dances &c. in costume, the step dances by Mr Hall, the sword dance and sailor's hornpipe by Mr Munro, and an appropriate song " Bonnie Prince Charlie," by Miss Cole, who sang it in excellent tune and with good effect. Mr Gloyer sang two song 3 and was highly applauded, and Mr Wallace of course delighted everybody a dozen times in half as many capacities. The duet " Money Matters," a domestic scene, was rendered with such good effect that, excepting that Mr Redpath and Mrs Aldridge were distinctly recognised, the audience might have been pardoned for regarding them as the veritable Zacharia and Sophia. It would be well if all money matters ended as agreeably. Mr Redpath sang with good effect " Sweet Spirit hear my prayer," and in the encore gave ■' Sweet Violets," and it is scarcely too much to say that their fragrance prevailed the whole assembly — I mean the audience not the Caledonian Assembly. Miss Cator and Mr Wallace in a selection of Scottish airs were loudly applauded. The accompanyists were Mrs Redpath and Miss Cator, and the only fault I have to find was the omission of the National Anthem. Messrs Sharp and Sons advertise that they will sell a one seventh share in the Collingwood Coal Mine at their rooms at noon to-morrow. This shonld produce considerable competition, as the mine ia now being worked at a profit on a email output, and as Boon as the increased f acilitiea for export are given much larger rrturau may be anticipated. The coke ovens, too, are in constant work, and turning out coke of superior quality, thus makiDg a valuable addition to the property. Wolfe's Schnapps has almost been a household word in the mouths of the thousands who have been restored or relieved by its use, and it is certainly proverbial for the wonderful cures it has consummated since its introduction. Decline of man. Nervous Weakness Dyspepsia, Impotence, Sexual Debility, cured by "Wells' Health Renewer." Druggists. Kempthorne, Prosser Sc Co., Agents Christchurch
