The Murr«y reached Wanganui this morn iu&,- aud left by the same li le for Opunake an i Nelson. The Wallace arrived at Greymouth fi-om Hokitika this morning, and proceeds to Westport to-night, -"The Kennedy arrived at Wellington last night, and leaves for Endeavour Inlet and Nelson this evening. She sails for West Coast ports at 1 p.m. on Monday. The Wanaka arrived from Wellington at 10 a.m. to-day, and sails at 8 o'elock to-night for Wellington and LytteltoD. The Laly Barkly left for Golden Bay last night, and returns here on Monday. The Rotorua leaves Wellington at noon on Monday, will arrive here on Tuesday morning, and sail by the fame tide at noon for Southern ports. The Penguin proceeded to the outer anchorage this morning, and after receiving the San Francisco mail, which was sent out in the pilot boat, sho sailed at 4 p.m. for Wellington, Taranaki, and Manukau. Captain Doile, of the s.s. Stormbird, died at Welliogton on Wednesday last. The cause of death was pleurisy. Captain Doile was well known iu Nelson, he having been a regular trader here a few years ago. Ihe Mawhera leaves Oamaru and Timaru to-day, Lyttelton on Monday, and Wellington on Tuesday, arriving hereon Wednesday morning. Sbe sails f.,r the West Coast the same day. The Union Steamship Company have been advised that their new steamer Tekapo left Glasgow on the 17th inst. for Port Chalmers. The Tekapo comes from the shipbuilding yard of Messrs R. Steele and Co., Greenock. Her dimensions are— Length, 291ft; breadth, 38ft lin; depth, 26ft 2iu; with a gross tonnage of 2350 tons, and she is calculated to carry 3200 tons of cargo. This vessel will be employed in the New Zealand-Sydney service in conjunction with the Wakatipu and Hauroto, and is designed to meet the growing requirements of the company's coal trade and to assist in carrying on the increasing produce trade between this colony and New South Wales. The Tekapo is expected to make the passage in 50 days.
