NELSON-MOTUEKA ROAD.

To the Editor op the "Evening Mail." Sib, — I think it is high time public attention was called to the state of the mail coach road (and the only road from Motueka to Nelson) at the Lower Moutere. It has been advertised in. the papers as dangerous for months past and people have travelled on it at their own risk. It is now almost impassable, and yefc no steps have been taken t> render it safe although £1300 were voted last- session to make it so. Ifc will now take doable that sum, as the road must be diverted in some way or another, and a flood may make it quite impassable. Wherever the fault lies it is a disgrace. I only wonder that people having property on the Motueka side of the river have nob brought an action for damages to their property long since. — I am, S_c., Resident.
