Auckland, Saturday. In the Auckland papers Slade, the wrestler, challenges any man in the colony to a "wrestling match for £200 aside. Dunedin, Friday. Two cases of sunstroke occurred at Queenstown (Lake Wakatipu) last week, and one was fatal to a little boy ten years old. Christchubch, Friday. A child named Amy Richards, aged two and a half yearn, residing at Woodend, has been missing since Tuesday under somewhat suspicious circumstances. A large search party was out all day, but up to a late hour had heard no tidings further than finding her hat, which had something on it resembling blood. It was handed to Professor Uickerton for a microscopical examination. Two of her sisters were with the child on Tuesday, and left her with their father, who returned home without her, and appeared unconcerned when questioned as to her whereabouts. He, however, assisted in the search for her on Thursday and to-day. Saturday. The match between Canterbury and Auckland commenced to-day in the Lancaster Park. The weather is splendid. Ashby (of Canterbury) won the toss and elected to go in first, Watson and Ollivier facing the bowling of Lankham and Grill. When Watson had made a score of 5 Ollivier was clean bowled without having scored. Reeves came in, and the score mounted steadily, despite the good bowling and fielding, and the telegraph showed GO for one wicket when Robinson took the ball from Gill. The score now (2 p.m.) stands at 68 for one wicket. Wellington, Friday. Suspicious circumstances have transpired in connection with the recent burning of the Cheltenham saw mills at Feilding. The New Zealand Insurance Company offers a reward of £50 for the conviction of the perpetrators of the crime. A detective has arrived there to make enquiries into the matter.
