o— v , MAILS CLOSE. For Motueka and Golden Bay— per p.s. Lady Barkly, to-morrow, at 2 p.m. For Appleby, Upper and Lower Moutere, Nga Timote, Motueka, and Itiwaka — Close every Monday and Thursday, at 8.30, a.m.; arrive every Tuesday and Friday, at 4 p.m. Also, for Motueka per steamer as opportunity offers. Note. — In consequence of the Australian Mails being now conveyed by British Packets between Brindisi and Alexandria, a reduction in Postage on Letters sent via Brindisi has been effected. The rates of Postage to be charged in New Zealand on Correspondence for the United Kingdom, via Brindisi, will therefore be as follows :— Letters. — Not exceeding \ ounce, 9d. ; exceeding £ ounce and not exceeding 1 ounce, Is. 6d. ; and so on, 9d for jevery £ ounce or fraction of \ ounce. Newspapers under 4 ounces, each 4d.; for every additional 4 ounces, 4d. Book and Pattern Parcels. — Not exceeding 1 ounce, 2d. ; exceeding 1 ounce aud not exceeding 2 ounces, 4d. ; exceeding 2 ounces and not exceeding 4 ounces, 7d. ; exceeding 4 ounces and not exceeding 8 ounces, Is. 2d.;,.,and so on, Is 2d for every additional 8 ounces or fraction of 8 ounces.
