Drowning.— A tailor, named M'Kinley, who formerly .worked in Nelson, jumped into the river at Westport a few day3 ago, and was drowned. His body was found washed up on the beach some time after. Football. — A match between eighteen of the Town Club and a like number of the College boys took place at the Botanical Gardens on Saturday afternoon, but the youngsters were evidently overmatched, the heavy weights proving too much for their lighter, though exceedingly active, opponents.
