The N.Z.S.N. Co.'s screw steamer Stormbird left Wellington yesterday at 1.30 p m., arrived at Picton at 7 o'clock, left again at 9.30, and arrived here at 8.30 a.m this morning.

On rounding Waipapapa Point, at 10 p m.; which is only a distance of 19 miles, the gale veered more to the northward, and connnued until the vessel was Hearing Otago Heads, when the weather changed almost to a calm. Arrived at Port Chalmers at 2.55 p.m. on the 13th, landed passengers and a large number of sheep, and sailed again at 8 p.m. on the 14th for Lyttelton, arriving at that port at 5 p.m. next day. Sailed for Wellington at 5 p.m. on the 16th, arriving there on the 1 7th, after a splendid run of 16 hours from heads to heads. Left for Nelson at 5 p.m. yesterday, and arrived here at 8 30- this morning. On this trip, the Omeo brings 260 merino rams for Mr. Warren in excellent condition.
