CORRESPONDENCE.
*»* We are desirous of affording every reasonable facility for the discussion of public subjects; but it must be understood that we are in no way responsible for the opinions expressed by correspondents. To the Editor of the Nelson Evening Mail. Sir — Huvingin.idvertentlyomitteitliefollowing letter from Mr. Akersten in the Examiner of this morning, you will greatly oblige me by giving it a place in the Mail to-night. Yours faithfully, C. Elliott. Saturday, Oct. 2, 1869. To the Editor of the Nelson Examiner. Sir — In the leading article of the Nelson Examine) of the 29th ult., the Editor in commenting on my programme, as he styles it, says that I have '• apparently forgotten that there is such a oody as the Provincial Council whose sanction for votes must be obtained before money can be expended. I think, sir, the seventh paragraph of my address refutes that statement. It reads : — I shall always endeavor to work in harmony with the desire of the people expressed by their organ the Council, being a thorough believer in the value and usefulness of the Provincial Government. I am, &c, W. Akersten.
