ARRIVAL OF THE BARQUE ALLIANCE, FROM LIVERPOOL.

The barque Alliance, from Liverpool, arrived at the anchorage this morning, after a protracted passage, amounting altogether to 196 days. She left Liverpool on November 27, hut when tliree day! out encountered snch bad weather off Holyhead that the captain thought it judicious to put back to Liverpool. Arrived there on the 3rd December, and started again on the 9th. The vessel encountered contrary winds and very heavy weather in the Channel and Bay of Biscay, during which the wheel chains and relief tackles ■were carried away, and the stern sprung. On '30th January, it was found necessary to throw -overboard a quantity of cargo to lighten the ship. On the 22nd of February, put into Rio Janiero to repair damages, and sailed again on 15th March, experiencing during that month aDd April, fine : and bad weather alternately. The Alliance then . met with a severe hurricane, Avhich lasted three _ays, from 4th to 7th May, rendering it neces- . sary to again lighten the ship by throwing cargo • overboard. The vessel is laden principally with -coal and salt, and is consigned to John M'intosh, Esq., of this city. The brig Gazelle, Captain Williams, left Newcastle on the Ist instant, and arrived here this morning. She experienced fine weather up to. the 6th, when it blew a strong easterly gale; from that date until her arrival she had fine weather.
