Canterbury, fifteen breweries and fifty-one spirit merchants. County of West land, seven breweries: Hokitika, two breweries ; Gr< j ymou<h, three breweries. There are also fifty-five spirit merchant in Westland. Otago, twelve . breweries and oue hundred and thirty-two spirit merchants. Nelson beats all the other provinces in the number of breweries and Otago in wine merchants and spirit merchants. - : Mr. H.
