The ship Mindora from London, having on board the second consignment of salmon ova arrived at Dunedin on the 30th uit., The ova was transhipped to the cutter Surprise, which was taken in tow by the s.s. Taiaroa to the Clutha, and towed up that stream to the Wairaera, where the ponds are situated by the p.s Tu«peka. Several of the boxes were opened, and the ova found to be in about as good order as the previous lot, notwithstanding the length of the voyage. The cricket match played between the Wellington ..Club and the officers of the Galatea was wqu'by the farmer in one innings —Wellington, 119; Galate-!,fir-;t innings, 29; second innings, 55. The prizes for essays on gol t field 3 have been awarded, and are as follows:—The first prize was awarded to Mr, Eyton, of Auckland; the second to Mr. Hutton, of Auckland; and the third to Mr. Gillon, of Wellington. The North Island is proclaimed a disturbed distr ct, under the Court Martial Act. On the 6th inst. no news had been received at at Napier from Wairoa for seven days. The Blanche was to be sent to Wairoa to ascertain the state of affairs.
