Professob James David Forbes, author rf several works, and youngest son of Sir William Forbes, Bart., of P.tslego, died on the last day of last year. He was one of the most eminent of our physical philosophy, and at the early age of 22 he *"as appointed to the chair of Natural Philosophy, in Edinburgh University, in 1833.
