THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S "v"ISIT,

To the Editor of the Nelson Evening Mail Sir —l have read with pleasure the Programme for the Royal visit, suggested by your correspondent ' Duke Humphrey ' on Saturday. He ought, however, to have mentioned, that the attention of the Prince should be called to the fine fulllength portrait of his Royal Mother at the Victoria Hotel. It would be only right and proper that such a striking likeness aud beautiful specimen of native talent, should be placed in some position where its beauties could be better admired than is possible where it now stands, and I would suggest that the Reception Committee should obtain the loan of it, and place it in the Provincial Hall, where supported by the Royal Arms, now to be seen at Fields' Brewery it would form a conspicuous object. I am &c. LoYALTT.
