From a New Zealand Gazette issued on December 2; we find that the total value • of the imports of the colony for the quarter September 30 last amounted to £1,204,563, and their value for the" corresponding quarter of last year was . £1,i 70,085. The total value of the exports of the colony for the la9t quarter 'amounted to £725,549, and the total value of the exports for the corresponding quarter of last year amounted to £824,803; .showing a decrease in the value* of the . in one quarter of £100,000. The r *ame Gazette states that the total receipts for. the September quarter amounted to £1,026,558, and the total expenditure is put down .at the same sum; but there was. a balance in hand on the first day of the quarter of £l 23,802, and on the last day of the quarter of £160,059.
