Friday, October 16. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. On the motion for going into committee of supply Mr Fox reviewed the proceedings of the present session, and was answered by Mr Stafford (in which answer in Hansard there is a considerable modification of his description of Nelson as appeared a short time since in the Nelson Evening Mail), after which an interesting debate took place on the management of Hansard and providing proper reporters. Saturday, October 17. LEGISLATIVE COUN.CIL. The Government House Site Bill, some particulars of which appeared in yesterday's Mail, was read a third time and passed. A long address to the Queen "was moved by the Hon. Colonel Russell on the Imperial Claims against the colony. Debate adjourned. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Several bills were read a third time. In reply to a question from Major Atkinson, Colonel Haultain said that Lieutenant Clery had been dis-. missed from the colonial force for intoxication. Monday, October 19. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. After some explanations, the Hon. Colonel Russell said that, owing to the small number of members present, he should withdraw his address to her Majesty. The Hon. Dr Pollen said that the business of the session had now been brought to a conclusion and that his Excellency the Governor would prorogue parliament on the following day. At two o'clock on Tuesday the Governor entered the .Chamber and took the chair; the members of the House of Representatives were in attendance, when the Speaker (SirD. Monro) read .an address, to which his Excellency replied, and declared the General Assembly to be prorogued till the the 29ti; December next. Thus ended the session of 1868. Let the >colony,be,.thankful, that there is an Upper House Mof Legislature.!
