GENTLEMEN— Mr Pitt's retirement from the Provincial Council having been announced, I beg to offer myself as a CANDIDATE to fill the vacancy thus created in the Representation of the City. I am assured by men of different parties of the existence of a general wish that I should take part in our Provincial affairs. Should you confirm this opinion by placing me in the Council, I shall endeavor to. justify your vote by discharging the duties of the post to the best of my ability.
