The Gothenburg left Hobsou's Bay at 4 p.m. on the 25th uit, and arrived in Bluff Harbor at 7 p.m. on the 30th ; discharged 30 tons cargo, and sailed for Port Chalmers at 3 p.m. on the Ist iust, arriving there at 7 a.m. on the 2nd ; landed passengers and 130 tons cargo, and sailed for Lyttelton at 2 p.m. on the 4th; arrived in Lyttelton at 9 a.m. on the sth; aud after landing passengers and 50 tons cargo received 150 tons of cargo for Melbourne; sailed fbr Wellington at midnight, arriving at 8 p.m. on tho 6th. Landed passengers and cargo and sailed for Nelson at 2.30. p.m. on the 7th aud arrived at 3 this morning. • The Hokitika Evening Star of the sth instant, states tbat Mr Prendergast, the Attorney-General, had arrived that morning for the purpose of conducting the trials of the State prisouers charged with riot and seditious libel, at the next sittings of the criminal sessions. The Lyttelton Times of the 2nd inst. states authoritatively that his Excellency the Governor and Lady Bowen will visit Canterbury, Otago, Nelson, and the Middle Island generaliy, after the close of the next session of the Assembly. The Randwick Autumn Meeting was to • take place afc Sydney on the 25th and 30th uit. and on the Ist and 2nd inst. The performances of the Japanese Jugglers are attracting very crowded audiences' in Wellington in spite ofthe unfavorable state Of tbe weather. The following is a copy of a Times advertisement : ' Education. — Wauted, by a father, a School, where his son may receive au education to "fit him for a manly and useful life, without any humbug as to nations d6ad and buried thousands of years ago.'
