CRICKET.

TO THE EDITOIt OP THE NELSON EVENING Ma.IL. Sir — May I encroach on your kindness to correct a statement made in yesterday's Examiner, respecting a challenge sent to the Wakefield Cricket Club, by an eleven of Nelson and its vicinity. The challenge was sent, not by the members of the Wood and Hope clubs, but by an eleven comprising members of at least, four clubs some of whom are Strangers in Nelson. As regards their presumption in challenging a village eleven, the result of a game would probably be the only test. I may add, in conclusion, as a matter of fact, that either from neglect or want of courtesy, we have received no reply to our challenge. Yours &c, C. Gill.
