TO CONTRACTORS AND MINERS. mHE PAKAWAU COAL-MINING COM- ' X MITTEE request TENDERS For raising and removing 5000 or 10,000 tons of Coal from a seam at Pakawau, situated on the south side of the road, and of which a face has been exposed in a gully at a distance of five chains (more or less) from it, on the following conditions : — The contractor to raise the coal, fetch it awa y and convey it to Nelson at his own expense, and to sell it for his own profit, paying a royalty to the lessees, but no royalty to be exacted on the first thousand tons; and a f ter raising 5000 tous, he will have the option of renewing the contract for a similar quantity. Intending contractors are required to state in writing on or before SATURDAY, the 9th November, what royalty they are prepared to offer; but no contract will be signed without the party undertaking it having given satisfactory proof that he is prepared to carry it out in a proper manner, in accordance with the conditions of the lease, which lies for inspection in the hands of the' undersigned.
