Correspondence.

j HOMOEOPATHY. To the Editor of the Nelson Evening Mail. Sir — A correspondent in this evening's paper begins his letter by calling me an ' allopathic medical man.' I have no idea what the nickname 'allopathic' means. If i he would explain its meaning perhaps I might be in a positiou to deny that it is i applicable to me. He says ' S.A.C. is evidently ignorant j of what homoeopathy is.' I freely admit I thatl have striven to find out what it?s,x is, aud failed. I have only to add that the writer of the lelter signed 'Not one of S. A. C.'s educated Persons' is himself evidently ignorant of what homoeopathy is, as auy of your readers who peruses the following extract must admit: — 'It is however very generally known what homceopathj' is ; the principle of which is to cure diseases by such medicines as produce similar symptoms, in large doses, in the healthy person.' I shall read with pleasure the letter from one of 'the homceopathic profession,' promised by your correspondent, if it tells us in exact terms what homoeopathic principles and practice are, and if it points out . any 'incorrect statements 9 in my letter, I am ready to withdraw or explain them. I am sorry to have caused offence by applying the appellation 'it' to ahomoeopathist, but being in perplexity about the sex, was compelled to resort to ' it/ the homoeopathists" being, as I have said,

n— B— — — Mß— >■ li— ■»— — — visionary .and people have ' made an alteration in clause 14 of the bill such as to admit of the registration of females- who administered globules before •'57. ..... I am,-etc., S. A. C. Nelson, Sept. 9, 1867. '
