S LORING, while thanking the public of o Nc4soh for the rapidly increasing ' support they have bestowed on the JSelson Meat Bazaar, begs to call attention to the fact that he supplies purchasers with the BEST JOINTS at the most moderate charges. - The annexed extracts are copied from a report. in the Nelson Government Gaze.te, of date July 1, 1567, by Dr. .Cusack, Provincial Surgeon, who reported ou ITeurorpneumonia : — '' 1 have to statt. my distiuct opinion, that much of the mutton consumed in .Neison is unwholesome, in the seuse of being almost destitute of the requisite elements of nutrition." Dr. Cusack makes the following observations regarding, the meat supplied by the Nelson "Meat Bazaar :— " To those who can afford it, it is generally possible to obtain good meat; but to working ru^n, to whom Id. or 2d. a pound is a large consideration, the importation of cattle has, in my opinion, been a great boon. Mr. Johnson, the enterprising merchant who. has lately imported cattle into Nelson, is an utter stranger to me ; but as some prejudice exists against his beef, it is my duty, for tbe information of that portion of the community with whom its lower price is a consideration, to state my impartial opinion, that . all of it that I have had an opportunity of seeing or tasting was sound and wholesome, much more so than a great deal of the mntton lately sold in Nelson. If carefully stall-fed arid tended on board ship, I am aware of no reason why most of the animals,, if previously healthy, should not be landed iv sound health at Nelson." SHIPPING SUPPLIED.
