[From June 26 to July ]3.] The Viceroy of Egypt, on June 12, at a banquet given to him in London, stated that the successful progress of Egypt was entirely clue to England. He expressed himself as a firm ally. On July 13 the Sultan of Turkey arrived. A great demonstration was made in his honor. He visits the Queen to-day. A grand naval review took place at Spithead in honor of the Sultan. The quarter's revenue amounted to £17,750,000. The canonisation of martyrs at Rome was celebrated with great pomp, the consistory numbering 400 bishops. A Papal allocution has announced the convocation of an Ecumenical Council. The wool sales closed firmly. Prices were on par with March. sales. B -nk rate of discount is 1\ per cent., and it is expected to go lower. Similar reductions have been made in France, Amsterdam, Frankfort, and Berlin.
