Fawn, for Wanganui : 48 tons coals. The s.s. Airedale, Capt. Kennedy, arrived in port at 2.30 this morning. She left Nelson last Tuesday, at 12.45 a.m., experienced a strong gale from NW in the straits, arriving at Wellington the same evening, after a run of eight hours and 20 minutes. Left yesterday morning against a strong southerly gale, and arrived at Picton at 1.30 p.m.; left at 5 pm., and arrived at Nelson this morning. Capt. Kennedy reports the departure of tbe Kakaia for Panama, on the Bth, with 60 passengers. The paddle steamer Nelson left Nelson on the 31st ult., at 9.45 a.m., arriving at the Buller at 9.30 a.m. on the 2nd August; left on the 3rd at 10.30 a.m., and at Fox's at 1.30 p.m.; left Fox's at 3 p.m., arriving at Grey at 12.30 a.m. on the 4th; left at 4 p.m. on Bth, arriving at Buller at 6.30 a.m. on the 9th; left the Buller at 4 p.m. and arrived in harbor at 11.45 this morning. Put into Totaranui on the run down, but had fine weather on the return trip.
