Aitken, and by the retire - ment of Messrs. Rout, D. Burns, and W. Wright (whose term of office wili then expire, but who are eligible for re-election). In the event of a Poll being demanded, POLLING will take place on the following day at the Market-place, Nelson, commencing at Noon, and ! closing at 4 o'clock p.m. Of the four members to be elected, three will hold office for two years, and one (in the place of Mr. R. Aitken) for one year only. The person who stands fourth highest on the show of hands , or on the poll, if a poll should take place, shall be deemed to be elected in the place of Mr. Aitken.
