Wellington, July 8, 1-20 p.m. The St. Kilda arrived from Napier today. The Taranaki had not arrived there up to Saturday last. The Sturt is expected here hourly with further news. The Government have ordered the St. Kilda to go in search of the missing steamer, and she is now getting up her steam. The Auckland Herald of the 29th ult., reports that the Taranaki had left Auckland on the previous day for Tauranga and the Southern ports, with cargo aud the following passengers. — Mr. J. D. Murray, for Poverty Bay; Mr. T. Marshall and tho Misses Biddeford, for Napier ; Mrs. Hill aud Mr. Nesbit, for Tauranga; Mr. Krull, Colonel Kenny, Mr. Goulston, and Mr M'Lean, for Wellington. The Herald of the Ist instant says that "the Taranaki which left this port on Friday afternoon last, ouly arrived at Tauranga at 4 p.m. on the following day, after a tempestuous passage." There were no vessels at Opotiki wheD the Taranaki left, and the only craft remaining in Tauranga at the date of her departure was the cutter Bella. A cutter bound in was passed off the Heads on Saturday night. The Star of the South reports passing the Taranaki on the 80th ult., off Kawa.Kawa Rocks. Wellington, July 9, 12.13 p.m. The Taranaki has arrived. - The delay was caused hy a pin dropping out of the screw, and she put into Tauranga to repair.
