"HOPE I DON'T INTRUDE."

To the Editor ox the Nelson Evening Mah;. Sir —Glad to Bee in Examiner this 1 morning a letter from Paul, who, it seems, 1 is rusticating in Motueka—must be partial to old potatoes—fear they disagree with; him. Letter very tame —nothing worth noticing Query, is he the real Paul $ Advise him to stand clear of drunken squalls he is so fond of writing about—• afraid temptation too strong for him —• writes like a person in the blues. Glad to see some progressive members in Provincial Council. Afraid the pace the favorite horse was running at lust races 1 has taken all spirit out of him and broken! his Wind; Pleased to see running taken*

Up by a promising young horse, and wish him success in endeavor to win Coalbrook Dale Stakes. Would give him a friendly hint to go round Mount Eochfort and not river it,. Amused at speech of Eobinson Crusoe from over the Bay on Karamea expedition. Think " One who knows the Road " is not such a big Flat as his, to start from Collingwood forKaramea valley —yet would be glad to see a good coalseam found on said Flat. See a letter signed "Community" in tonight's Mail. He speaks about light> yet gives none— no more than a railway sleeper. He tells us somebody told him how to launch railway -schemes— wonder if King Hudson told him} as he appears to know all about the good hands this matter has fallen into. Would advise "Community" to use his head as well as his hands the next time he writes. If it is a crime to use arguments, he is innocent. Paul Pb*'s Gttost. . July 6th, 1867.
