Tuesday, June 25. Mr. Doone to move, That his Honor the Superiutendeut be requested to furnish the Council with a statement of Gold Duty and Customs Revenue received from the Nelson South-west Gold-fields for the year ending March 31st, as also a statement showing what balance of Provincial Revenue (if any) was to the credit of the province at tbat date. Mr. Bentley to ask the Provincial Secretary whether it is the intention of the Government to take any steps for the further development of the Buller Coalfields. Mr. Dreyer to move, That his Honor the Superintendent be requested to place on the Estimates the sum of £360, for the purpose of providiug a self-acting punt on the Grey River, between the Arnold and the Twelve-Mile Landing. Mr. Dreyer to ask the Provincial Secretary if it is the inteutien of the Government to appoint a District Engineer for the South-west Gold-fields. Mr. Burn to move, That a Select Committee be appointed to take into consideration paragraph No. 11, of his Houor the Superintendent's Address, and to report on the future management of the Nelson Hospital, with power to call for persons and papers ; such committee to consist of the Speaker, the Provincial Secretary. Mr. Donne. Mr. Pitt, Mr. McMahon, Mr. Beitt, and the mover. The Provincial Secretary to move, That the Council go into Committee on the Licensing Bill. The Provincial Solicitor to move, That the Council go into Committee on the Gold-fields Licensing Bill. The Provincial Solicitor to move the third reading of the Education Bill. Mr. F. Kelling to move, That the petition of Sir David Munro be referred to the Committee appoiuted to enquire into the working of the Scab Act. Mr. Donne to move, That bis Honor the Superintendent be requested to take the necessary steps to get the Port of Charleston declared a Port of Entry and Warehousing Port, and to place upou the Estimates a sum of money sufficient to provide wharfage accommodation for the Ports of Brighton aud Charleston.
