PURSUANT to the provisions of the " Education Act, 1863," his Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified, that the ANNUAL RATE imposed by the said Act upon all Householders residing within Educational Districts, will be LEVIED on MONDAY, tlie Ist day of July next ; and that the same will be received at tke following places, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., namely — ' Court House, Nelson, by the Inspector of Police _. School-house, Clifton-terrace, Suburban North, by Mr. Alexander Wragg; School-house, Stoke, by Mr. E. Austin; Agricultural Hall, Waimea East, by Mr. Augustus G. Brock; School-house, Waimea West, by Mr. George Walker; School-house, Spring Grove, by Mr. Thomas Andrews: School-house, AVakefield, by Mr. R. Burbush ; School-house, Upper Moutere, by Mr. William Best; Scho.l-house, Lower Moutere, by Mr. W. Guy; Institute, Motueka, by Mr. Thomas Boyes; School-house, Pangatotara, by Mr. H. Danvers ; School-house,. Kiwaka, by Mr. C. Pattie; School-house, Motupipi, by Mr. J. Baird; House of Mr. G. Tavlor, Takaka, by Mr. G. Taylor; Police Station, Collingwood, by Mr. John Fisher ; Court House, Cobden, by the Sergeant of Police, The aforesaid Act requires that " every householder in each educational district shall pay, annually, twenty shillings, and a further sum of five shillings for every child of such householder between the ages of five and fourteen years: Provided always, that no person shall be liable to pay for more than four children, nor for any child residing more than tliree miles from any school established under this Act; nor for any child attendmg any school not established under this Act, in respect of whom such persons shall produce to the Collector a certificate signed by the teacher of such school, showing that such child has attended during the three months previous to the levying of the rate." HIS Honor the Superintendent, in accordance with the provisions of'the "Education Act, 1563," directs it to bo notified that he has appointed FRIDAY, the 14th day of June instant, at 12 o'clock, noon, tor the ELECTION of MEMBERS to fill the vacancies in the LOCAL COMMITTEES of EDUCATION ; and that the Elections for the several districts will be held at the following places, viz. : — For the District of the City of Nelson, at the Court-house, Nelson ; For the District of Suburban North, at the School-house, Thackwood ; For the District of Suburban South, at the School-house, Stoke ; For the District of Richmond, at the Agricultural Hall, Jiichmond ; For the District of Hope, at the School-house, Ranzau ; For the District of Waimea Scuth, at the School-house, Spring Grove ; For the District of Upper Wakefield, at the School-house, Upper Wakefield ; For the District of Lower Wakefield, at the School-house, Lower Wakefield ; For tbe District of Waimea West, at the new village School-house, Waimea West ; For the District of Upper Moutere, at the School-bouse, Upper Moutere ; For the District of Lower Moutere, at the School-house, Lower Moutere ; For the District of Motueka, at the Motueka Institute ; For the District of Riwaka, at the School-house, Riwaka ; For the District of Motupipi, at the Schoolhouse, Motupipi ; For the District of Takaka, at the Schoolhouse, Takaka ; For the Distriot of Collingwood, at the Schoolbouse, Collingwood ; For the District of Pangatotara, at the Schoolhouse, Pangatotara ; For the District of Cobden, at the Court-house, Cobden.
