PURSUANT to the provisions of the " Education Act, 1863," his Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified, that the ANNUAL RATE imposed by the said Act upon all Househoulders residing within Educational Districts,' will be LEVIED on MONDAY, the Ist day of July next ; and that the same will be received at the following places, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., namely — Court House, Nelson, by the Inspector of Police ; School-house, Clifton-terrace, Suburban North, by Mr. Alexander Wragg; School-house, Stoke, by Mr. E. Austin; Agricultural Hall, Waimea Ea_t, by Mr. Augustus G. Brock; School-house, Waimea West, by Mr. George Walker ; School-house, Spring Grove, by Mr. Thomas Andrews; School-house, Wakefield, by Mr. R. Burbush; School-house, Upper Moutere, by Mr. William Best; School-house, Lower Moutere, by Mr. W. Guy;Insiitute, Motueka, by Mr. Thomas Boyes ; School-house, Pangatotara, by Mr. H. Danvers; School-house, Riwaka, by Mr. C. Pattie; School-house, Motupipi, by Mr. J. Baird; House of Mr. G. Taylor, Takaka, by Mr. G. Taylor; Police Station, Collingwood, by Mr. John Fisher; Court liouse, Cobden, by the Sergeant of Police. The aforesaid Act requires that *'* every householder in each educational district shall pay, annually, twenty shillings, and a further sum of five shillings for every child of such householder be- ' tween the ages of five and fourteen years: Pro 7 vided always, that no person shall be liable to pay for more than four children, nor for any child residing more than three miles from any school established under tliis Act; nor for any child attending any school not established under this Act, in respect of whom such persons shall produce to the Collector a certificate signed by the teacher of such school, showing that such child has attended during the three months previous to the levying of the rate."
