THE GREAT RIFLE CONTESTS FOR 1867.
j —The conditions for the simultaneous Enfield Match and for the St. George's | Challenge Vaso at Wimbledon liave just | been issued. Tne simultaneous match is to be a competition between battalion twenties, company tens, and individuals. For battalions there are to be forty prizes, ofthe aggregate valne of £800 j for companies, 120 prizes, of £1200; and individual shooting, 150 prizes, of the value of £500 —making a total of £2500. The match is be shot off dvi ing the week ending the Ist of June, at the " Queen's Ranges." Battalions and companies may enter any . number of men —tbe highest scores in each ciifle only to be taken as those competing for the prizes. The conditions for the St. George*--; Challenge Vase are so far enlarged ck tb admit of two competitors from each company of Volunteers throughout the kingdom. There are 50 prizes in the first stage, ranging from the vase down to £2 ' —the. latter amount including 25 prizes. For the Dragon Cup the total value of the prizes is £70. The ranges for this contest are 500 yards iv the first, stage, and 600 yards in the second —seven shots at each.
