Egmont, John Vine Hall, Commander, left Suez on the 13th instant, with the Suez maii, and arrived at the Bluff on the 19tli, after an excellent passage of five and a half days ; sailed at 2.20 p.m. same day, and arrived at Port Chalmers at 7.80 a.m. on the 20th; got under weigh for Lyttelton at 3.30 p.m on the 21st, whera she arrived on the 22nd. at 10 30 a.m., aiter a quick run of 15 hours ; cleared Port Cooper Heads at 4.30 p.m. same day, and entered Wellington harbor at 8 a.m. on the following morning, making the run in fifteen and a half hours. The Jiuahine arrived from Panama at L p.m with twenty-four passengers, and after transhipping mails and cargo, tha Egmont steamed to the Heads, but, owing to the fog, was compelled to anchor at 9 p.m.; cleared the Heads at. 9 am. next day, a strong S.E. gale blowing, with dark and hazy weather; 1 p.m. off Steven's Island, gale increased in violence, with terrific squalls ; anchored at 7.15, eleven and a quarter hours from Wellington Heads. The Asterope, which leit Wellington on the 20th December, arrived at Exmouth, England, on the 19th March, alter a passage of eighty-seven days.
