AMERICA.
New York, March 23. Gold, IS4J ; Exchange, 108g ; Fivetwenty United States Bonds, 109^. General Butler and Thaddeus Stevens are still agitating for the impeachment of President Johnson, and for the confiscation of Southern property. The new Congress are determined to press the Alabama question, A committee has been appointed to consider the foreign relations of the United States. President Johnson has signed the Army Appropriation Bill, under protest, but declares the military government of the Southern States to be unnecessary and illegal.
It is rumored that the Canadian Representatives will declare the United Provinces to be a Kingdom, under the rule of Prince Arthur. A tremendous fire had occurred in Broadway, New York. A large section of the Radicals are cow advancing from universal manhood suffrage to female suffrage. Fenitmism is making rapid strides in America. The leaders are seeking to obtain the recognition of Congress. The Winter Garden Theatre at New York has been burnt down.
