The draft of the Federal Constitution is still under discussion in the North German Parliament. The new Italian Parliament has been opened by the King. Garibaldi has taken his seat in the Lower Chamber. The last French troops have sailed from Mexico. The British Columbian Legislature has voted for joining the British North American Confederation. A supplement to a bill having reference to Southern affairs, has been passed by the new Congress over the President's veto. The leading features of the Derby Reform Bill are published, and include suffrage (?), personal rating, and dual voting. Mr. Gladstone denounces the dual vote as tending to array the rich against the poor. Several Reform meetings have been held, but the people are quiet. Prince Alfred, after visiting the Paris Exhibition, will proceed to Australia in the Galatea. / The Prince Imperial of France is very lun wel I. The King and Queen of Denmark are in England. The landholders in the northern territory of South Australia intend pressing Government to refund their money, with, interest. / Another Fenian raid on Canada is expected, and the Federal troops have been | moved towards the frontier to check it. The Easter Volunteer Review will be held at Dover. The Cunard and West India mail contract soon terminate. The Great Eastern has sailed for New York, fitted to accommodate 3000 passengers for the Paris Exhibition.
