Weixinoton, April 26. The Advertiser is authorised to state that Mr. Bradshaw is simply a Government ajjeut for the gold- fields, with a salary of £600 ; and that no Governor's powers have been delegated to him, nor will any be to Mr. Macandrew. It adds that Otago has made its choice, and must abide by the consequence. Wellington Provincial Council opened to-day. The Superintendent condemns the sending away of the troops from New Zealand — where their mere presence was a preventive to native disturbances — to other colonies, who are not obliged to pay for them and dou't want them. Saturday, April 27. The Gazelle is filled with proclamations arid notices in re Otago Gold-fields. They revoke the late Superintendent's proclamations and previous regalations, and notify that the Governor has delegated the usual gold-field powers for Otago to Mr. Stafford.
