ELECTION RACES.
To COME OFF OX THURSDAY, 2STH MaECH.
Dispute about the favorite. Black horse scratched. Two horses to run.
Betting about even. One horse little longer on leg than the other. Little horse very staunch, will run well, different breed.
Saunders, Edwards, and Co. backing their horse Barney for heavy stakes, though lost two races before. Their favorite horse Blacky broke down, made them very wroth, determined to make their Barney win.
Little horse Osy very plucky, strong on leg, wind good, right breed, don't lose an inch of ground, won't run off the course.
Bigger horse slow, little too old, wants a deal of spurring, weak on legs, wind not good, can't depend on him, belongs to wrong owners.
Saunders and . Co. left Barney A 1 in stable in case Blacky not stand, thought Barney would prove second best if not the winner, thought they'd place little horse Osy uowhere.
Public like little horse best, back him to win, 'cause he belongs to nobody !
Barney likely vie with celebrated horse "Botherum," which would always keep winning horse in front of him.
Latest state of odds — Osy, 3 to 1 ; Baruey, nil.
Paul Pry. Paul Pry Office, Nelsou, March 25.
