MR. BARNICOAT'S MEETINGS.
EIWAKA. Mr. Barnicoat addressed the electors of Hisvaka, iu the School-house, on Mouday evening. Mr. B. Macmahon was voted to the chair. He introduced Mr. Barnicoat as an old aud respected settler — a gentleman whose word might be depended upon, and one who would uot mislead the public. Mr. Barnicoat said, if elected, he would use every legal means in his power to advance the interest and prosperity of the province. The railway, dry docks, waterworks, bridges, &c, were alluded to, in a clear, distinct, and masterly manner. His explanations and views were highly approved of. A vote of thanks, proposed byMr. Gower, was passed unanimously, as also a vote of thanks to the chairman, and the meeting, which was well attended, dispersed. Mr. Barnicoat will be well supported in this district. The electors are nearly all old settlers who are personally acquainted with him. — Communicated.
