February 2G. The market is quiet. Maize, 4s 1d : the Der West's cargo of oats and barley will be stored for a better market; lieavy tranactions are pending in teas. The Sirene's cargo of Patna rice lias been placed with the trade at £28 to £29 10s ; Sultana raisins are quoted at lOd; Joules's ale is rather dearer ; sugars at auction have advanced 20s per ton. 28th. Heavy speculative purchases of tea of the fine sorts have been made; tobacco has been withdrawn from the maket; all the salt in the market has passed in to one hand ; £5 5s per ton is now asked for fine ; Marrian's new ale is quoted at £9 ; there is no change since Jast week in the prices of wheat and flour, but the market is easier. Messrs. Dalmahoy, Campbell and Co., report •a full supply of cattle, principally of second quality ; prime beef brought 25s per lOOlbs; prime wethers, 50ibs weight, realised 13s 6d to 14s 6d. "
The wheat market is rather dull; buyers only offer 48 to 4s. o|d. Sales at these prices are reported. Flour, £10 to 11.
Dates to the 3.7th December, via Melbourne, are at hand by the Isabella. There was little good yellow grained sugar in the market, and prices advanced 25 per cent, while the Isabella's cargo was being put on board. The only vessel loading there was the Isabella Brown, for Sydney.
