THE Telegraph Commissioner is prepared to receive TENDERS for the supply and delivery of TELEGRAPH POLES, to be delivered as follows : — 50 at Flaxbourne 50 at Kekiranga 50 at Waipapa 50 at Amuri 50 at Gore Bay 50 at Saltwater Creek. The poles to be delivered in a secure place above high water mark, to be approved by the Telegraph Engineer. The whole of the poles to be sawn out of the heart of Totara or Black Pine, to be 25 feet long, . eight inches square at the base, and six inches square at the top. Nothing but the heart of these timbers will be accepted. Tenders will be received for the whole or any portion of the above supply of poles, and must state the time within which they will be delivered. Tenders addressed " The Telegraph Engineer, Wellington," and endorsed "Tenders for Telegraph Poles in the Middle Island," to be sent in not later than 12 noon on the 6th March.
