It is now understood (says the New Zealand Advertiser) that all the troops in New Zealand, excepting one regiment, will proceed to England as soon as possible, and those remaining will be portioned out in something the same manner as they were before the commencement of the war. There will not be any headquarters in this colony, General Chute and staff taking up their residence in Melbourne, whither they proceed as soon as the necessary arrangements can be made.
