The s.s. Stormbird left Wellington, at 4 p.m., on the 18th inst, came round Stephens' lsland, and arrived at Nelson, at S a.m., to-day. There was a strong westerly wind in the Straits. We understand that Captain Johnson owner of the p.s. Woodpecker, has resolved to have certain additions to the vessel and to put her in thorough repair. He will then obtain a certificate to allow the vessel to run in Blind Bay. It is expected that these repairs will take a week or so, after which the Woodpecker will ply regularly in the bay.
