A naval court-martial was held on hoard H.M s. Brisk, before the senior officers of ttte station, on the 9th inst., "which resulted in a request to two officers to tender their resignations. Mr. Gissing, of H.M. s. Falcon, has been promoted chief engineer of H.M. s. Brisk. Mr. Smith, gunner's mate of H.M. s. Challenger, has been appointed boat■swaiii) of H.M, s. Salamander.
