NEW RATES OF POSTAGE.
On and after Ist January, 1867, the postage 'chargeable on letters and newspapers, for places ■within New Zealand, will be at the following rates,- viz.: — Town Letters— Posted at any post-office within the colony, for delivery at such post-office — Rot exceeding \ oz Id. Over § oz but under 1 oz 2d. - Every additional oz or fraction of oz 2d. Country Letters— Posted at any post-office ■within the colony, for delivery at any other postoffice within- the same province— .Not exceeding I 0z... 2d. 'Over | oz but under 1 oz 4d. • Every additional oz or fraction of oz 4d. .Tnterprovincial Letters— Posted at any postoffice within the colony, for delivery at any postoffice in any other province within the colony — Not exceeding J 0z... ... ... 3d. Over £ oz but under 1 oz 6d. Every additional oz or fraction of- oz 6d. Newspapers — On all newspapers posted within the colony, for delivery within the colony, Id. Tables of rates' of foreign postage may be had at the. Chief Post-office.
