PROBABLE ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES OF POSTAL STEAMERS—PANAMA CO.
We learn from the Otago Times that the inquest on the body of the late Captain Randall took place'at Dunedin on Friday last, before Dr. Hocken and a jury, at tlie Provincial Hotel. Mrs. Randall'c; evidence was exactly in accordance with the facts already mentioned by telegram, and Mr. Clayton, chief officer, who had sailed with the deceased for two years, certified that he had seen him twice in fits. Dr. Drysdale, by whom a post mortem examination had been made^ described the appearance presented by the heart, lungs, ancl brain, and said that he had no doubt that death resulted from apoplexy. The jury at once returned a verdict to that effect. The funeral took place about half-past 3 o'clock on the same da}!. The body . was borne from the morgue to the Provincial Hotel, and thence to the cemetery, by the crew of the Otago; some of the officers being pallbearers. Amongst those who followed were Mr. Clayton, the chief officer ; Mr. Brodrick, the company's agent here ; Capt. Toru.son, Harbor Master, and Capt. Dickie, his assistant; Captains Renaer (Wellington), Jago (Lioness), M'lvinnon, and Malcolm ; 31essrs. Bradshaw, Houghton, and O'Neil, M.H.R.; and a number of residents in Dunedin and Port Chalmers. The Rev. E. G. Edwards, of Paul's Church, Dunedin, viliciated.
